Helmaceous Park + Culinary Arts

Postby Flashlight237 » Fri Nov 03, 2017 8:54 pm

So yeah, I've been building this one up. I've secured a important details about the Helmaceous period from Robby quite a bit ago. On September 27, I got this out of Robby:

Image

And that was a response to an email I sent to Robby telling him about Helmaceous Park. So yeah, basically, as a nod or parody to Jurassic Park, I decided to create a new area called Helmaceous Park. This is what the map would look like with Helmaceous Park:

Image

Yeah, the place is intended to be entered from Egg Den: an area riddled with Plant Monsters and Lotus Eyes. The park would have 11 areas: just enough for a nice batch of new monsters.

1. Helmaceous Park Entrance (Titanobovines)
2. Titanobovine Ranch (Titanobovines; the first lake of Helmaceous Park (a watering hole for Titanobovines) appears here)
2H. Ranch House
3. Mountain Base
4. Mount Scherer (optional monster-grinding area)
5. Stalker Hideout
6. Trecherous Lake
7. Helmaceous Falls
8. Ruined Outpost
9. Jungle of Terror
10. Man's Last Stand
11. Indominus Oculus's Lair (BOSS: Indominus Oculus)

As for the monsters, the first one I'll present to you people is the Titanobovine: the Monster Skull's original carrier.: https://sta.sh/0zyp2g7hrog

This gargantuan cow beast has a synapsid-like face, perhaps setting the stage for evolution between mammalian dinos and mammals. This creature is a gentle giant, which could be one of the reasons why it went extinct.

That aside, there's the first bits of Helmaceous Park. I'll post more when I make more.

-shrug- I only had the Monster Skull to work with, and that thing is essentially a giant cow skull.

I mean I've built up some stuff for a desert/Egypt area, which had five monsters (Scorpion, Mummy Golem, Sarco-Grabber, Thoth Ibis, and Sphinx), four fish (Mummified Sliver, Sea Scarab, Ankhfish, and Wepwawish), and several props (all which were exclusively emailed to Robby)

Then there's the Bouncer Land, which involves redesigning the Purple Goo and Red Bouncer enemies to give them more personality and adding eight new bouncers and a bouncer boss (Bouncer King). Oh, and there was a rat that was animated.

This one, well, I have a few monsters and at least two fish (the two definitive fish being ammonites and coelacanths (a rare fish on the same tier as Dark Reapers and Subordinates)) in mind that I haven't drawn yet. The boss IS drawn, but I'm saving him for last.

If you could provide pictures of how the areas and the boss would look like, then robby would really have no reason at all not to implement it, as most of it is already done for him. Good suggestion!

Well, if moss lived for a stupidly long time, then there's no harm in using this. It looks somewhat Coelacanth-y, though. See anything similar?: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Lati ... -_NHMW.jpg

Well, I've been working on fish for this next part of my suggestion. For Helmaceous Park, I have conceptualized five fish. Thugpro took care of one of the ideas I've conceptualized: a coelacanth. Aside from that, here are the fish.

Ammonite: These shelled creatures swam in the waters from the Gammian period to the Helmaceous period. These creatures are consumed by Protoamphibians, Mosselacanths, and Primal Stalkers. Despite being simplistic, these creatures went extinct millions of years ago.
Piscis Viridis: Commonly known as the "Greenfish," Piscis Viridis is the ancestor of the well-known Green Bouncers and every other known bouncer. The Piscis Viridis had both gills and lungs. It is said that the flopping of Piscis Viridis on land evolved into the familiar bouncing we see in bouncers today.
Trilobite: A rare, yet famous fossil creature. These creatures were found from fossils dating as far back to the second quarter of the Alphanian Period over 500 million years ago. Scientists of Helmaceous Park have managed to revive this creature from a small fossil found in an amateur's Stone Helmet. Back then, the fossilized trilobite was giving the amateur helmet-fitting troubles.
Mosselacanth: The Mosselacanth is a living fossil just like Green Bouncers, Night Stalkers, and Lotus Eyes. It has survived the mass extinction brought upon the world by a meteorite that landed in what is now known as Lavastone Trench. These creatures are, however, in danger of extinction thanks to human activity.
Protoamphibian: The Piscis Viridis who stayed in the water during the Betanian and Gammian periods have evolved into the Protoamphibian. The protoamphibian is a lungfish which is the ancestor of nearly every form of land life in the world (excluding arthropods like Crabs and Bullopedes), ranging from timid creatures like Mushroom Balls to hostile giants like Acidic Krakens.

wait, I don't want to sound like every stupid and "edgy" teenager that tries to be funny... but what is the gender of the cow-thing?
The design is perfectly normal, and I understand that the horn things are from the monster skull design.
But since it has both udders and horns, the cow is pretty much both male and female?

I didn't want to be the first to say it, but it looks like the flagbearer is here.
Thanks Tens.
Honestly, having more rooms isn't going to change anything for the game. The changes need to be less superficial.

I strongly disagree.
A huge new area with a shit ton of new stuff would definitely get me back into the game.

You get new sprites, new backgrounds, new drops, but the gameplay isn't changed. All the bugs are still there.
