Why 1k power pet?

I'm posting this in off-topic because I have an honest (but somewhat irrelevant) question.

I see a LOT of people offering "pet 1k power" for trade, or asking to buy 1k power pet. What's the point? Is 1000 power the point at which a pet can 1-shot a specific enemy? Or is it just for the stats boost?

probably because they can only afford a 1k power pet and know pets are better than actual stats
