If the next day you wake up, and walla! You Just won the 1 Million Dollars Lottery Ticket!!! Now the question is, What would be the first thing you would do with the money?

I would donate it to the hospital where I'm working at, so that we can have extra rooms, extra machines, extra stocks, extra offices, and more rooms for different occasions. I would also make a shelter under the hospital, in case there are natural disasters occuring. I'll also donate some of it to the poor families of the wor----

97k to pay off our house.
25k to pay off my student loans.
15k to pay off my wife's student loans.
15k to pay off my wife's car.

Keep our jobs so that the $1475 we were paying a month on those 4 things we can keep each month.

8k to our checking account just to get us started right.

Put the other 840k in our online savings account and wait for tax time when 400k of it will be taken from us in taxes.

Decide what to do with the rest after that.

No. I'm sure it depends on the lottery but when you're winning hundreds of thousand of dollars (or millions) you're going to be taxed.

Woah that sucks. Where I live, any winning/gift/trust fund payout is non-taxable, unless its value increased since you first acquired it. I suppose that's why professional gambling is harder to live off in the US.
