Weapon Damage

Seems like I should be doing more damage than I am.

I made a cowboy character, AnnieOakley, her character sheet says her Artillery stat is an 89 (75 +14 for items) she is using a "Mac10" which claims to do 27-35 damage. Seems like this should mean I do 116-124 per hit (27+89 to 35+89) minus the mobs defense of course, but I never do that much, AND not only that but, the range of damage I do do is wider than the weapons range (35-27 = 8)...

For example when fighting against "Yellow Hairy Monsters" whose defense according to the heropedia is 7, I should do 109-117 (range of 8) but, instead, I've been doing 79-100 (range of 21).

This is true of all other mobs I've tested, here is a sample of them:

Green Bouncer: 84-105 (should be?? 106-115)
Green Walker: 77-98 (99-108)
Pumpkin Creeper: 27-49 (50-59)
Plant Monster: 12-33 (35-44)

And it is not just the Mac10, this also is happening with my revolver.

Mushroom squish:
--calc / Mac10: 106-115 / 84-105
--calc / Hand Gun: 103-112 / 74-97

No, it's right.

There's a formula used for Helmet Heroes. Monsters have I think their defence is multiplied from 1 - 1.6 and attack is also multiplied from 1 - 1.6 so it's ok

So the numbers are really only good as a reference to each other (mob/armor/weapon X strong/harder than m/a/w Y)
but are USELESS to determine if I can hit/survive a certain mob.
