Controller Support

Postby robby » Wed Aug 20, 2014 4:06 pm

As many of you know there has recently been built in support added for playing with controllers. This has mostly been tested with X-Box controllers as they are one of the easiest to connect and play. I tried to make integration as easy as possible for players, so they can simply plug in and begin playing. This is a new feature however and there are a magnitude of controllers that could potentially be played with. If you have a controller and it is not working post here. Please answer these questions when posting.

1. Is your controller being detected? (example: Does it appear in the options menu?)
2. If the above is true, do any of your controls work in game? If not, let me know the controller name exactly as it appears in the options menu.

Here is a page where the controller controls can be tested: http://helmet-heroes.com/miscStuff/controller%20test.html

LycanBlade - When you push buttons on your controller on the test page, do the values change inside the test box? If so, what I will need you do it if you can, is let me know which button on your controller relates to each value shown on that box. For example if you press the X button on a PS3 controller, what value does it make change to a 1? Note that pressure sensitive buttons such as the joysticks will change from a value of -1 to 1.

Shubhank - Try the same thing I told Lycanblade on the test page.

Thanks guys! That was exactly what I was looking for! If you could give the test page a try and let me know if the "unknown" is no longer there for most of the buttons than you should be good. Go ahead and give them a try in game and let me know how/if they work for you.

So you are unable to move? Did you just the D-pad and the analog sticks both?

Ok one more question. Do you have an "analog" button on your controller that you can try toggling on and off?
