This will be a fun thing to debate and discuss:
What's the Top 5 going to look like a couple weeks from now?
I'm going to jump in front of this bus and post my predictions and why I think they're feasible based on the limited information I possess.
1. Legendary- Most are driven by prestige. Legendary is the finish line for many. Legendary will continue to thrive so long as Jerek does.
2. The Devil's Army- Most guilds have a cycle of activity and interest- just as most players do. Contressa has proven he's a long-term player. He's motivated towards ranking and he has a motivated partner. More gets done within the space of focused relationships.
3. DIABOLICAL- While Diabolical is not in full wane like current rankers BT and OLB, they don't have the exuberance of a younger guild. Furthermore, TDA is treading the same ground, both thematically, and stylistically. Generally, in those instances, the hungrier organization is going to win out. I could see it going either way, however.
4. Click to Talk- We've got a strong and active core, but we're less focused on being ranked. I'd put us further down, or even off the list if there were more competitive guilds out there.
5. Wu Tang- Husker's still active, they were ranked before. I see no reason they shouldn't be so again. It's a situation like Click to Talk, I imagine (I have little information about Wu Tang)- if there were more guilds pushing to the top, I doubt CTT or Wu Tang would be on as things stand today.
Things to watch: OLB is a big question mark. If Latzi returns or lets his intentions be known, some form of this guild could resurge- either in its current form or as an off-shoot under new leadership. His absence is the only reason they're not pushing for number 2.
I don't enjoy watching sports, but I enjoy the analysis behind competition (I could probably enjoy a fantasy league if it didn't involve watching the games). I'm interested in what others think about the current state of Guild competition.
