Soda, huh? I used to be a big soda drinker. And, not surprisingly, I got really fat. Now I am more discerning, but sometimes I will get something, depending on the situation.
If it's late at night, but I just have to drive to get home, and I'm like 30-60 minutes away, I'll have a Mountain Dew Code Red. I'm good for about an hour after that until a hard crash. (pun intended.)
If I'm traveling and see some interesting unusual soda flavor, I might try it. If I'm in Atlanta and visiting the Code plant, then I'll end up drinking lots of such flavors. And on mission trips in Haiti, a cold Sprite made with real sugar hits the spot after a hot day of work.
There's a Mexican line of fruit soda called Jarritos that I'll have every now and then as a treat. There's a growing Hispanic population here so it's easier and easier to get such delicacies.
Ginger ale, root beer, or Ale-8-1 is good to have if I'm with a group of people drinking alcohol but I'm not imbibing (which is pretty common.) (Ale 8-1 is a non-alcoholic, green brew, kind of like ginger ale on steroids. I think it exists only around here.)
