Well, it's basically a system giving the player XP (and maybe coin) bonuses for wearing undertiered armor and weapons. For example, if you're wearing a blue beanie, a lovely ballerina skirt, and a sexy pair of coconut legs, you'll gain far more XP than if you were to wear a regular old cyro set. And if you're holding a stick rather than your gaint laser cannon, you'll gain even more. Because enemies are harder to kill when you are using low tier items, you will gain much more XP.
I'm not sure on exact statistics, but I was thinking you'd be able to get up to a maximum of 3x as much XP. However, the thing is, the higher your level, and the more powerful you are, the higher a bonus you can get. I know, this system likely need a lot of revamping and balacing, but it's mainly to put it out there.
A formula something like this, perhaps:
(UserLevel - 10) = MaxEquip
((MaxEquipDef + MaxEquipAtk) / (EquipDef >= 5)) / 3 = BonusXP%
(UserLevel - 10) = MaxEquip
(MaxEquipDmg / (EquipDmg >= 3)) = BonusXP%
- MaxEquip is the highest level armor you can equip. For your class only. Never goes below 1.
- MaxEquipDef/Atk is the defense and power/range/magic/artillery stat of your MaxEquip.
- EquipDef is the defense value of your currently equipped armor. This number is never less than 5.
- BonusXP% is the percentage boost you will get. If this is at 12%, a monster normally giving 100 XP would now give 112 XP.
- MaxEquipDmg and EquipDmg is the min-dmg value of your MaxEquip and current equipment. EquipDmg will not go below 3.
- Weapon and Armor bonuses both cap at 100% bonus xp, but will add together for a total of 200%. Also, only the strongest of two one-handed weapons will give a bonus.
NOTE: For balancing purposes, you would need to be 10 levels higher than necessary for X equipment, before it would be considered by the calculator.
This would be applied to all armor pieces. Each value from every armor piece would add up linearly, not exponentially.
(5% + 7% = 12% BonusXP)
Let's use my level as example. I'm currently lvl 1043.
1043 - 10 = 1033.
My MaxEquip would be a god scimitar, which has 450 min-dmg.
If I were to equip a sickle, which has 10 min-dmg, I would get 450 / 10 = 45% bonus XP.
Helmet: +39%
Armor: +37%
Legs: +38%
Shoes: +6%
(Weakest armor in the game)
The armor gives a total of +120%, which would reduce down to the 100% max.
This, plus the 45% bonus from using a sickle would add up to +145% xp.
It may seem like a lot, but keep in mind, this is with crappy armor and weapons equipped.
