new messaging idea (inbox)

Lets face it the current messaging system is flawed, the more popular you are the worse things become. Lets take coke_na_rc for example when he signs onto his account he in bombarded with messages which fill his screen. The new option of blocking non friend pm's has helped this issue but in turn has caused another. Once coke_na_rc enables this option the flood of pm's stop but being the popular guy who coke is this also prevents him from chatting with others who may not of made his (i would assume) maxed friend list.

I introduce the inboxing system
-a simple way to organize your pm's without the need of multiple windows.
-displays the number of current unread messages from hidden chats.
-keeps track if the person you are chatting with is online or offline.
-allows the ability to send offline messages (memos).

The Inbox system can be added as a button next to your pets / character / friends / social / map.. etc buttons. The icon would be clevelands letter, anytime there were new messages to be read the inbox would flash like your heropedia. Taking the idea a little further an add contact box could be added in order to message various individuals which would be the same thing as when you add a new friend to your friends list "Enter a username:" this could be placed directly under the list of pms.

Thanks for the suggestion, a very good one. I do want to revamp the PM system in the near future once I get some other fixes and things out of the way. The mock-up you made is nice, I will save it and keep it in mind for when I revamp the PM system.

only if it worked, keeps randomly wanting to reopen a new pm box when there is one open causing the old one to be attached to ur cursor which is just the loveliest way to have to refresh
