Choosing 1-handed or 2-handed

I think this is a dilemma for many people.
While I would suggest you choose what you like,if you need,
I can provide a solution for that.

Terms:

RA=strength if warrior,range if archer,magic if mage
base power(BP)=RA+minimum power of weapon(Wmin)
top power(BP)=RA+maximum power of weapon(Wmax)
D=target defence (except players)

Note:
Please do not put extreme numbers into these values, such as 0,negatives.
Equations/inequalities may malfunction

Brief:

By observation,
2-handed(2H) weapon has higher Wmin and Wmax than 1-handed(1H) weapon with similar level.
Lets assume that Wmax2>Wmin2>Wmax1>Wmin1.
And based on of this,
base power of them follow this order too.

For D>/=RA+Wmax1,
you cannot deal any damage to the target using 1H.
Therefore, use 2H. (but in practice, this does not necessarily mean you can deal damage using 2H)

Introduction(I):Weapon damage under different cases

To avoid confusion,
BP/TP of 1H will be noted as BPm/TPm
BP/TP of 2H will be noted as BPq/TPq
Remember:
TPq>BPq>TPm>BPm

For TPm>D>/=BPm,
the average damage of two 1H=[(TPm-D)(TPm-D+1)]/(TPm-BPm+1)
the average damage of 2H=[(BPq-D)+(TPq-D)]/2

For BPm>D,
the average damage of two 1H=[(BPm-D)+(TPm-D)]
the average damage of 2H=[(BPq-D)+(TPq-D)]/2

Body:Maximise average damage

For TPm>D>BPm,
if [(TPm-D)(TPm-D+1)]/(TPm-BPm+1)>[(BPq-D)+(TPq-D)]/2,
use 1H.
If [(TPm-D)(TPm-D+1)]/(TPm-BPm+1)<[(BPq-D)+(TPq-D)]/2
use 2H.

For BPm>D,
if [(BPm-D)+(TPm-D)]>[(BPq-D)+(TPq-D)]/2,
use 1H.
If [(BPm-D)+(TPm-D)]<[(BPq-D)+(TPq-D)]/2,
use 2H.

Cautions

As you may have guessed,
having higher average damage does not necessarily you can kill faster.
For instance, overkill damage has no effect but still taken into consideration in the formula.

This is more unique.
This is the stability problem.
2H generally has larger power range while 1H has smaller power range.
That means 2H can hit a very high power but sometimes a low power. (but still higher than what a 1H can do)
Compared to that, the power output of 1H is more stable,no extremely high power nor super low power.

Lastly, the difference between 1H and 2H aside power.
Such as range, hit box, attack delay, combo and so on.
These may affect your damage output.

What I think:

I am not sure if this would benefit players.
As I think the unexpected outcome is part of the fun of a game.
Of course, this is still something obvious if you ask me.
However, should we showcase everything in a game?
Should we always make the best choice?(assuming it is the best)
These question put me in mist.
Lighten your heart, brighten your world, as always.
