In an open ended game like this, I am wondering what people's goals are. This is an informal survey, then!
What drives you to continue play?

To help finding bugs and improving the game, also to keep improving our guild and last but not least to become Jereks elite guild member.

That's interesting- you're improving your current guild while hoping for a change? What improves a guild? What makes a guild great?

I've already achieved my previous goal of being Top Mage. Now I guess my goal is just defending the title.

My first goal was just to support robby in this game, help find glitchs and jazz.
Though, I took a hell of a break and came back to find the game had exploded in popularity since I had left, and guilds were now in effect. Gret(#1 bowman) was the dude that got me into this game, and when he had his own guild, I wanted in it. Thus, I grinded to 100 to meet the requirement.
Now, I have no idea. Umm....

That's the crux, Sargeant Penis. What do you do when the bones of the game lose their luster?
This is not a knock on the game. It's a strength. The game is mostly bones and a pallet which allows for the more social and narrative elements to become the flesh. Some of y'all have chosen numeric advancement as your flesh pot. That works for you and that's great. Someone's got to focus on the bones- they are important. I'm somewhat in the Sargeant's camp in that I'm more skin oriented. I enjoy the improvised stories the game can provide- but most of the more potent of these involve spontaneous actions of others. My goals are episodic. I don't know where it ends- it's always the next hill. Sometimes that hill is "gain a level", but other times it is "find purpose in the guild" or "warn folks about Omega Destroyer".

Fun is the overriding concept. The goal is the path to fun. For me, if there is no goal, I don't have fun. This game begins with a narrative and then quickly becomes open. That openness requires us to overlay the goal. I like that.
